Top Scorers List for Premier League Football 2016 Week 1: Ibrahimovic Tops the List of Marksmen with a Double
It is always a spectacle how teams in general perform in any soccer tournament. However, the stars that made the shots are the ones that reap the praises at the end of the day. Here is the list of top marksmen in the Premier League 2016.
Best scorers
Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovicis currently holding the first spot for the most number of goals as the Premier League unfolds. Manchester United has two reasons to celebrate at the opener. One, the consistent performance of the 34-year old Ibrahimovic. Secondly, United is sharing the fame with the five other contenders in the league.
Moreover, Jose Mourinho's squad is also enjoying what could be a delayed debut for Ibrahimovic. Given the goals, Ibrahimovic was instrumental during the grueling match against the Red Devils. After opening the scoring mayhem, Wayne Rooney immediately followed suit, then Juan Mata.
Another Striker, Philippe Coutinho is also busy making a name for himself with 2 goals. Some fans are also chanting Coutinho as a potential rival to superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The icing on Coutinho's Liverpool career was a double because he sank during a match against Arsenal. The only question that trails the 24-year old is if he can replicate the early success with Liverpool's succeeding games.
Meanwhile, the third slot is shared between several players but it is easier to rank them based on the number of goal attempts made. The list will then narrow down to stars who were able to do "one shot, one kill" during their respective matches.
Other potential players
Amada Diomande will forefront for Hull City's campaign this season. Although considered as a late signee for the squad, the Stabaek striker proved to be an invaluable addition to the team. The 26-year old Diomande made an interesting bicycle kick to land a goal against powerhouse Leicaster on weekend. Hull won the match with a 2-1 towards the finish.
Eden Hazard suddenly stepped into the coliseum highly rejuvenated. Eden delivered an impressive goal against West Ham. Hazard states that the key to the success is the "tiger performance" that Chelsea pulled off against Ham. The opener was a seesaw battle between Hazard and Ham's James Collins. When Hazard made the first goal, James Collins' promptly responded with a goal of his own to level the match. However, another goal from Diego Costa sealed the game.
