The Heat are playing around second and third in the Southeast Division as they are currently trailing the Atlanta Hawks atop the standings. They are also trying to hold off the Washington Wizards who are slowly climbing the group as they rebound from their slow start to the season.
On the other hand, the Raptors have led the Atlantic Division since the start of the season and have not relinquished the place so far.
The two teams are scheduled to face four times in the regular season, with two meetings already in the books and both teams winning a game each.
In the first meeting, it was not a close game as the Heat won 96-76 at home thanks to a spectacular display in the second half of the game.
By the end of the half, the Raptors led by three points but it was immediately erased after a 30-point third quarter by the Heat. Furthermore, they held the Raptors to only 16 points in the third and 13 in the fourth to win by 20 points.
In the next game, the Raptors were able to rebound in Florida after a 108-94 victory.
The Heat had the lead by half-time but it was the Raptors who had the most shooting in the second half as they outscored the Heat by 19 points to win.
