'Total War: Warhammer' News: 'Warhammer' Announced With a New Cinematic Trailer

"Total War" is adding a new game to the series, entitled "Warhammer" and its announcement was made through the release of a new cinematic trailer. The computer strategy game is being developed by The Creative Assembly, a U.K.-based game developer.

"Warhammer" does not officially have a release date, but reports say that this game will be the first of a trilogy of games.

The new trailer is a CGI cinematic trailer which is impressive. The report, however, warned those who have seen it that trailers such as these may provide hype and may make the game "seem bigger and better" than it actually is.

The trailer however shows the different characters that players will encounter in the new game. These include men, Dwarves, Goblins, Orcs and even Vampires. It also shows what rideable beasts are available for the player, such as dragons and giant spiders.

In the game's official description, it says: "The valiant Karl Franz marshals the men of the Empire, seeking to unite the fractured elector counts under a banner of strength against their common enemies. And while the Old World becomes torn by betrayal, war and the unleashing of unfathomable power, a greater threat still whispers in the winds from the north. The fabric of reality itself begins to rend and buckle."

Another report in Game Rant says that "Warhammer" is bringing some changes to the "Total War" series. "Total War" has long been known as one of the best real-time turn-based strategy games, allowing players to "engage in tactical, cerebral warfare" while being immersed in different historical periods. Most of these periods are somehow based on real historical events. "Warhammer" will bring change because it brings in magic and fantasy in the "Total War" game series.

Creative Assembly also said that there will be two additional games. "Warhammer" is also set to receive a DLC which will introduce new races. The game will be made available for PC and OS X.
