It has been a disappointing year for Chelsea who were dubbed as one of the favourites to defend their championship but showed that they were just not up to par this year.
A string of early losses and surprise defeats saw the team slip down the rankings and even spent some time battling to stay above the relegation zone.
They were able to recover a bit, but they have still not found any consistency this year and Chelsea are eager to end this year to start over.
Chelsea have lost two of their last three league games which include a surprise loss to Swansea City and a thrashing against Manchester City.
They only recently got a win when they dominated AFC Bournemouth 4-1.
It is a tough schedule to close out the season for the Bluese as they have Tottenham this week, then Sunderland and Liverpool on away games before heading home to face title hopefuls Leicester City.
On the other hand, one team hoping to get maximum points to keep their dreams alive are Tottenham.
They are second in the table and are seven points behind Leicester.
With nine points left for them to play, they need to get as much points as possible and hope that Leicester slip in their final games to get the improbable title.
The two teams settled for a draw in their first meeting to set up an interesting game at Stamford.
