Toy Fair 2017 News: 'Lightseekers' Game Available in July; Pre-Sale Starts April
The on-going Toy Fair 2017 has brought good tidings for gamers who have been looking forward to the release of the interactive role-playing game "Lightseekers."
The upcoming mobile game will reportedly fuse fantasy and reality in a fantastical world known as Tantos. In this particular world, Lightseekers are powerful heroes who stand against the evil race of umbron and work hard to defeat their plan of ruling Tantos.
The PC/Mac game will incorporate augmented reality with over 385 trading cards and Bluetooth-enabled action figures in a community-driven storyline. New players will settle right in without missing out on the full depth and mastery of its tale.
The collector action figures are expected to be 7 inches in height, with an ability to deliver two-way physical-to-digital interactions. There will also be numerous unique weapons that have special in-game abilities, along with storage capabilities for saving progress. There will also be flight packs that allow players to control their in-game character by simply moving the figure.
"Lightseekers" will also make extensive use of the device's camera to scan pictures. This can range from a simple box art to the more detailed features of the trading cards. Other things that can be scanned include comic books and posters tied in with the game, as well as the images in the packaging itself.
While all these elements can be played separately from each other, bringing them all together can greatly enhance a Lightseeker's gaming experience.
At this year's Toy Fair event, game developer Playfusion and toymaker TOMY were both present to announce that the "Lightseekers" accessories will be exclusively sold online or directly in Toys R' Us stores. The online presale starts on April 17 and the items will be hitting shelves on July 1.
