'Transformers 5' news, cast, spoilers: Mark Wahlberg & Michael Bay to be a part of next installment?

The fifth installment of "Transformers" is much awaited by a lot of fans of the franchise. Despite some changes in leading characters in the past movies, its more than $1 billion gross income is proof enough that the fanbase of the franchise is strong enough to surpass such changes.

For now, many await the development news of the film and where it is in its progress. First of the confirmed news would be from Den of Geek, which is that Mark Wahlberg will be once again lead the new movie. The production will start in June 2017, so even though cast lineup may still possibly change, for now, it seems that the studios are set in having Wahlberg back as their star.

Second news as reported by Deadline is that the script writing process is officially done for the movie. It is said that writer Akiva Goldsman already has the concrete blueprint for the fifth movie installment. Furthermore, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, scribes for "Ant-Man," will be in charge of the animated feature that will be all about Cybertron, the origin planet of the Transformer robots. However, it is expected that the script might still have some changes through the years before production starts. There are rumors that the universe of Hasbro toy line might be incorporated, as well.

Finally, the last news to have been spreading is that production still wants Michael Bay to take over the director's chair once again for the film, but there is no confirmation on this yet. Although Bay is the ideal candidate, he recently took to Twitter his thoughts and shared, "Directing TF5. No, it's not official. I have not committed to any idea as of yet. Just met with Steven and we are discussing." Depsite the denial, many are still hoping that Bay will take the challenge once again, especially as he has already left a trademark in the past Transformers films and would certainly be a challenge for any future director who might take over.
