Transformers 5 Premiere Date, Cast News: Megan Fox to Reprise Role, Actress to Take Lead This Time?

Michael Bay won't be back to direct the next installment of the Transformers film. With the director's absence in "Transformers 5," fans can expect the next film to undergo a lot of changes, starting with its cast.

Along with Bay, Mark Wahlberg and Shia Lebouf are also said to be not coming back for the film. This could mean that a new male lead will be working alongside the Autobots, but the question is, who will it be?

Rumors are saying that Josh Duhamel, who appeared in the first two films, could be taking on the lead role. However, there are some who strongly believe that a woman will help fight the otherworldly villains this time— and all signs are pointing to Megan Fox.

It can be recalled that Fox was not cast in "Transformers 3" after she made offhand comments comparing Michael Bay to Hitler. The director is known to be very strict and disciplined during filming.

But it appears that the two have worked out their differences as it was reported that it was Bay who helped get Fox signed on to play the role of April O'Neil in this year's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot.

In an interview with the actress, she has mentioned that she would love to return for "Transformers 5" even in a cameo role. But according to MoviePilot, Fox's contract with the Ninja Turtles movie includes a potential sequel, and if the film gets greenlit for a second installment, then it could possibly affect her return to Transformers.

"Transformers 5" is slated to premiere in 2016.
