Transformers 5 'The Last Night' Movie – Upcoming New Film To Bring Justice to Autobots [News Updates]
"Transformers: The Last Knight" movie is expected to propel the world of "Transformers" forward as it brings the story into a new direction.
Franchise Places Refocuses Story To Make Fans Happy
There is much anticipation for "Transformers: The Last Knight" as it is expected to bring the franchise back to its roots. The previous movies have put a lot of focus on humans rather than the Transformers themselves, which had fans upset about how the classic world was set up. This will most likely appease fans of "Transformers" as it will be reminiscent of the classic adaptation.
Comic Writer Talks About The Promising Future Of The Franchise
Meanwhile, the writer of the "Transformers" comic books recently spoke to Vice about how the franchise has evolved. Simon Furman said that he has always put focus on the robots, to the point that he treats them as actual beings that have human-like tendencies. He stated that he recognized their emotions, flaws and dreams, since it was a way to connect to the readers.
He said, "I think readers really responded to that. And we never flinched from making the stories gritty and intense, and eventually expanding the scope of the story, bringing in elements like Primus, their creator, and his nemesis Unicron. Overall, G1 -- from the toys, to Marvel, the cartoon, the comics, the animated movie -- has just had so much love invested in it, which is why I think it's lasted."
However, he stated that the previous takes on the portrayal of Autobots presented interesting adaptations. He explained that before, comics presented a hardcore vibe in comparison to cartoons. He also hopes to continue challenging audiences with the messages presented.
While he acknowledged the surprising history of the franchise, he expressed his excitement for the future of the franchise. He said that with all the plans for the expansion of "Transformers," he is looking forward to seeing more of the robots.
He said that the IDW Comics, Michael Bay, and Hasbro are all moving towards the same direction, with regards to the film. Because of that, fans can expect a lot of intresting changes to take place in the years to come. He emphasizes that the kids nowadays will finally get a chance to enjoy "Transformers" the way it was enjoyed back in the day. He said, "And really that's key—getting the next wave of kids to love Transformers the way previous generations did. That original batch of 80s kids who grew up with it are a big part of why it is what it is now, but that can't go on indefinitely. But Transformers itself... maybe that can."
