'Transformers 5' Update: Movie Rumored to Go Back to Its Roots; No Humans?

The entire "Transformers" franchise has led many victories and a number of falls, mainly due to the complaint of some loyalist fans about the previous movies giving "too much" attention on Earth and man instead of focusing on the transforming robots.

With the movies' titles, it is only reasonable that the story line should be looking into the history and lives of the robots, and probably shining some light on their impact on man. However, the previous movies, according to "purists," have deviated from the reason itself why the movie was entitled "Transformers."

Usually, following producers will reveal a lead actor after announcing the movie's coming and its director; however, it seems the production still has no plans of casting actors and actresses for the movie. The delay in announcing a human protagonist has led fans to believe that finally the fifth installment may be going back to its roots.

Earlier in June, Deadline got a hold of Akiva Goldsman, head screen writer for "Transformers 5," and he shared some comments that only gave fans more reason to speculate that the movie may be focusing on robots once again.

Referring to the upcoming movie, Goldsman said, "It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches, and writers and artists."

Meanwhile, some other rumors suggest that Ultra Magnus, Overrise, and Red Alert will be seen in the fifth movie. Crossmap also reports that Cyclonus, Scourge, and Blitzwig will be teaming up with Galvatron to face another group in a battle that has yet to be announced.

It should be worth noting that Optimus Prime paid his beloved Earth his final respects and left Bumble Bee and the rest of the robot hero team to protect man and his planet. However, some rumors suggest that he may possibly return for a final battle before finally saying his last good-bye.

Optimus Prime's final good-bye in the upcoming movie makes for an interesting plot for fans who have known the strong leader that he was in all the previous movies.

"Transformers 5" is rumored to come sometime in 2017.
