'Transformers: The Last Knight' Release Date, News: Paramount Unveils New Trailer Featuring Female Protagonist Izabella

After unfurling the first Super Bowl trailer for the toy-based blockbuster franchise last month, Paramount Pictures teased fans once again with the unveiling of a brand-new trailer for "Transformers: The Last Knight" at the 2017 Kids' Choice Awards on March 11.

While the first trailer did not provide much detail about the upcoming sequel, the new footage provides a tease of what is to come. The clip focuses on a new young female protagonist named Izabella (Isabela Moner) on the run from some sentries who seem to be tracking down some of the Transformers.

In the clip, there is an Autobot helping Izabella as she hides from the sentries. At first glimpse, one would think that this Autobot is Bumblebee. However, more knowledgeable fans speculate that this Autobot is not the famous Bumblebee but a different one named Canopy.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" will see the return of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager and Josh Duhamel as Colonel Lennox. Joining them on board is an entirely new lineup of comrades, including Laura Haddock and Anthony Hopkins who will play a professor from Oxford and a regal English lord, respectively.

The upcoming film is expected to destroy the core myths of the "Transformers" franchise as it redefines what it means to be a hero. In "Transformers: The Last Knight," humans are at war with the Transformers. With Optimus Prime already gone, saving the world falls upon the shoulders of Cade Yeager, Bumblebee, the English lord and the Oxford professor.

The official synopsis for the film reads, "There comes a moment in everyone's life when we are called upon to make a difference. In 'Transformers: The Last Knight,' the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours."

"Transformers: The Last Knight" will hit theaters on June 23.
