'Trial & Error' Season 1 Episodes 7, 8: Will Larry Henderson Plead Guilty?

Six episodes have already gone and passed and yet, East Peck's finest defense team has not even brushed the edges of the truth behind Margaret's murder. If anything, there's one new mystery piling up on top of each other with every new back-to-back episodes of NBC's legal mockumentary series "Trial & Error."

In this week's episode, two new persons of interest went up on the defense team's murder board: the victim's brother, Jeremiah (Bob Gunton) and his wife Josie (Cristine Rose). Additionally, it was revealed that Summer (Krysta Rodriguez) is really Larry's (John Lithgow) biological daughter and is actually 29 years old. And on top of all these, due to Larry's lies about her legitimacy and age, Summer switched teams and went to the prosecutor, Carol Anne (Jayma Mays), saying that she now has doubts about her father.

The murder case has already gained considerable attention even before the trial actually begins, and in the next episode titled "The Case Gets Bigger," New York's big-shot attorney, Mr. Mankiewicz (Fred Melamed) comes to East Peck to check on Josh (Nicholas D'Agosto) and finds a gigantic hole in his apprentice's case. What could Josh and his team be missing, and how can Mr. Mankiewicz help them out? Will he?

Meanwhile, Larry's rift with his daughter will bother him very much. With this, along with the added pressure of Mr. Mankiewicz's presence also bearing down on him, he will decide to take matters into his own hands with potentially deadly consequences. Will he consider pleading guilty just to get it over with?

Whatever it is that Larry will think of doing, it seems that it will at least be effective in bringing him back to Summer's good graces. Unfortunately, the subsequent episode titled "A Change In Defense" will have Mr. Mankiewicz taking over the case now that it has gained national attention. Moreover, he also tells Larry to plead insanity, which in turn will force Josh and Carol Anne to team up and convince Larry to stand trial instead.

"Trial & Error" episodes 7 and 8 will air back-to-back on Tuesday, April 4 starting at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
