'True Detective' Season 3: More Writers to Compensate for Disappointing Season 2?

"True Detective" season 3 will reportedly feature more writers who will whip up better scripts to compensate for a rather disappointing season 2.

Fans of "True Detective" are still holding on the possibility that HBO will order a season 3 for their favorite series. While the network still has not confirmed a third installment for the series, there are already rumors and speculations about the story arcs of the series, according to Christian Today.

A lot of factors contributed to the flop of season 2, but the series creator still has a chance to redeem himself by reconstructing the show for season 3, Movie News Guide reports.

One of the speculations listed by True Detective Rumors is series creator Nic Pizzolatto's plan to hire additional writers to improve the scripts for the third season. The second season was quite disappointing, so changes need to be done to give viewers a better show, the report details.

In addition, the site suggested that the dark plot of the series should have a milder tone. Fans may want something easier to watch but not necessarily a story with a light tone, the report relays.

As of now, HBO has yet to decide on ordering a season 3 for "True Detective" or not, but the network's president Michael Lombardo had already expressed his desire to retain the show.

"I'd love to do another season. I haven't asked every one of the 12 million viewers who is watching, but I think what [Pizzolatto's] doing is so much bolder, braver and satisfying than what I'm seeing in film," Lombardo told the press back in August. "I'd happily be in business with him for a long time."

There is still no target release date for "True Detective" season 3, but Den of Geek speculates that the new season will premiere either in the winter or spring of 2017.
