'True Detective' Spoilers, Finale Preview: Clues to Yellow King Identity, What Will Happen in Episode 8?

Several spoilers for tonight's season finale of 'True Detective' have been leaked over the past few weeks, and have had fans getting excited over the season climax Sunday night.

The network and those working on the show have released pictures and other leaks on their own along the way that point to what will happen in tonight's finale. True Detective will follow an anthology format which means that the story will conclude in this last episode. It also means the characters will not be in season 2.

The first spoiler to be released by HBO was the synopsis for tonight's episode. It is titled "Form and Void" and the description reads as follows:

"An overlooked detail provides Hart and Cohle with an important new lead in their 17-year old case."

What is this detail that the two detectives Rust Cohle and Marty Hart played by Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey overlooked? Some believe it could be the strange behavior of Hart's daughter, who has drawn and created images over the years that mimic the killings of the cult the detectives are on the trail of.

Does Hart's ex father-in-law have something to do with the cult? It could be the reason why his daughter seems to have seen some of the horrific things that have been perpetrated by the worshippers of the Yellow King.

Or does it have to do with the lawnmower man with the scars, who revealed his identity at the end of last week's episode? Cohle met him briefly at the end of episode 3, but his scars were covered up with facial hair at the time. A freeze frame posted up by a Reddit user hints at this man being the Yellow King.

The crew of the show leaked pictures from episode 8 last week that showed a skeleton laying in a bed and an altar of bones found in an abandoned home. See them here. The bed that the skeleton is on is seen in the preview for tonight's episode, however, the person on it appears to be alive.

True Detective's writer Nick Pizzolatto recently stated in an interview that tonight's episode will not have any huge twists to throw the audience off. He claims that the show has been spoon feeding the answers to its mysteries the whole time and that 85 percent of the whole story is told in the very first episode.

The season finale of True Detective premieres tonight on HBO at 9 p.m. E.T. Tune in to see the fate of Rust Cohle and Marty Hart. Will they finally solve this 17-year old case that started with the murder of Dora Lange in 1995?
