'Twin Peaks' Season 3 Spoilers: New Video Shows Deputy Hawk And Mystery Figure
"Twin Peaks" is returning to television after more than 14 years, according to a promo featurette released Friday.
The crime drama series will begin airing its third season in 2017 on Showtime, with David Lynch and Mark Frost, its co-creators, producing. Angelo Badalamenti, who composed the American TV serial drama's haunting theme song, is also on board to create the score for the show.
While there is still more than a year to go before the murder-mystery TV series returns on air, fans of the show were treated to a few glimpses of what's to come. The teaser, which was uploaded to the new official YouTube page of "Twin Peaks," shows a production crew setting up the town's welcome sign as Michael Horse (who played the role of Deputy Hawk in the original series) talks about the Pacific Northwest.

"Location sometimes becomes a character," Horse says in the video. He goes on: "There's a lot of holy places up here, a lot of sacred places. I can't put my finger on how I would describe it. It just touches something in the psyche. It's almost like being in a moving painting."
At the end of the video, a mysterious, blurry figure with the same cloud of white hair as Lynch's pops up and adds an eerie feel to the whole thing.
Though the featurette does not reveal much, it has already been confirmed that most of the original cast members are returning for Season 3. Kyle MacLachlan is coming back to play the role of FBI Agent Dale Cooper.
Season 3 is said to consist of 18 episodes penned by Lynch and Frost. Lynch will direct the episodes for Season 3.
"Twin Peaks" aired its pilot episode on April 8, 1990 and released 29 other episodes until June 10, 1991. The show takes its title from the fictional town in Washington in which it is set. "Twin Peaks" follows the story of a homecoming queen's murder and the FBI investigation into it. Along the way, it also deals with the town and its many secrets.
