UFC 194 News: McGregor Reportedly 'Preparing For A Loss,' Weidman's Coach Says KO Will Happen 'Early' In Fight

Former two-division title contender Chael Sonnen believes that Conor McGregor is "preparing himself to lose" to José Aldo at UFC 194 this weekend. Meanwhile, Chris Weidman's head coach Ray Longo declared that challenger Luke Rockhold would be put away in the fight "early".

In a previous interview with TMZ upon his arrival in Los Angeles a few weeks ago, McGregor spoke about how Ronda Rousey will be able to bounce back from her loss against Holly Holm. "The Notorious" pointed out that experiencing defeat does not mean the end for any fighter.

Rather, it is what fuels an individual to further triumph.

"Defeat is the secret ingredient to success," McGregor said of Rousey. "True champions can conquer that, overcome it and come back. So I wish her all the best and that's it."

Apparently, Sonnen is not in agreement with McGregor's statements. In his recent appearance on Submission Radio, the outspoken retired fighter went as far as saying that the brash Irishman is actually bracing himself for a loss through the aforementioned statements he had made.

"Conor McGregor is feathering a nest for a fall," Sonnen says, according to Submission Radio. "It's so apparent to a guy who understands the psychology of sport." "You don't have to get beat," he continued. "It was a weird thing for him to say and he was feathering the nest."

Meanwhile, the head coach of UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is confident that they will be able to finish their task at hand earlier than expected. In a report by MMA Fighting.com, Ray Longo says that based on how training camp has been going, an early knockout would not be impossible.

"I think it's going to be early," Longo said. "I think Weidman's going to do what he always does. He's very confident, he's going to walk across the ring."

UFC 194 is scheduled to take place on December 12th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will be headlined by a featherweight unification title fight between José Aldo and Conor McGregor.

The co-main event feature of the evening will be a middleweight championship clash between Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold.
