UFC 203 Results: Stipe Miocic KOs Alistair Overeem, Defends Heavyweight Title in Cleveland; Bonuses Revealed

UFC 203 was a memorable night indeed for Stipe Miocic as he defended his heavyweight title in a knockout victory over Alistair Overeem. The two were the main attraction at the most recent Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on September 10.
More than 18,000 fans gathered at the popular arena that night. Fans thought that Miocic was about to retire early during the first part of the match when Overeem gave him a hard left to the face. He also came with a guillotine hold in an effort to submit Miocic. But luckily, the champ escaped.
The challenger claimed that Miocic tapped after he made this move, but after a quick review of the action, officials confirmed that Miocic did not submit. After he recovered from Overeem's grip, Miocic gained the upper hand. It did not take Miocic time to finish the match; he gave his opponent a series of punches that left him out cold. Miocic ended the match in less than five minutes of the first round.
Mickey Gall wins over CM Punk via submission
CM Punk submitted to Mickey Gall in just a few minutes of round one. Punk received a severe beating from Gall as the former used his favorite double-leg takedown to gain the upper hand. Gall used his Brazilian jiu-jitsu moves to dominate the former WWE star and after a rear-naked choke, Punk submitted to his opponent.
Yancy Medeiros takes down Sean Spencer
Medeiros is known for a less-than thrilling performances in the octagon, but he surprised the crowd in Cleveland as he took down Sean Spencer in a submission hold. The Hawaiian used his size and length to forcing Spencer into submission, earning him a bonus. This is his second bonus match; the first one was in May at the UFC 198.

Fabricio Werdum won over Travis Browne via unanimous decision while Jimmie Rivera was victorious over Urijah Faber in a unanimous decision. Meanwhile, Joanne Calderwood submitted to Jessica Andrade in just 4 minutes and 38 seconds of round 1.
Fight of the Night bonus
Miocic and Overeem earned the Fight of the Night bonus. Miocic has won these in three straight times, earning seven since he started in the UFC. Overeem, on the other hand, has won two in his professional career.
Jessica Andrade won a bonus after making Joanne Calderwood submit. The new strawweight fighter secured a spectacular first-round submission as she took Calderwood down with a guillotine hold.
