UFC News 2016: Ex-Champ Junior Dos Santos Confident He Will Get Title Back; Holly Holm Questions UFC's Decision Of Not Giving Her Rematch Versus Tate
Former heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos is confident that he will be getting back the title he once held.
The 32-year old "Cigano" was able to state a strong case for the next title shot after handily beating number four-ranked heavyweight contender Ben Rothwell this past weekend via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 86 in Zagreb, Croatia.
Speaking to reporters of Brazilian media outlet Combate (as reported by Bloody Elbow), the Brazilian fighter acknowledged his areas of improvement, noting how he needs to work on both his boxing and grappling game.

But at the same time, Dos Santos says it will only be a matter of time before he gets another shot at UFC heavyweight gold.
"We are putting everything back into place now and that's why I say I will be champion again, for sure," Dos Santos said. "I don't know how many fights I'll have before I get a title shot. I just want to fight, because I know the title shot will come."
Currently placed aat the fifth spot of the UFC's heavyweight rankings, Dos Santos holds a record of 18-4 with 14 victories by stoppage.
Prior to his fight against Rothwell, he lost to MMA and kickboxing veteran Alistair Overeem last December 19th, via second round TKO.
Meanwhile, the talks for a rematch between current bantamweight champion Miesha Tate and former champion Holly Holm have been abuzz, despite the UFC's decision to go towards another direction. Tate is currently slated to defend her title for the first time against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 on July 9th.
And for Holm, not getting her immediate rematch is "frustrating", since she believes it was not a dominating victory for Tate.
"As far as how she won the belt, it wasn't like she was just dominating me. I was ahead. I was winning that fight," Holm told Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting. "And yeah, she totally had round two and dominated round two. But in my eyes and I think most people's eyes, that's why a rematch made sense."
Holm adds that the fight between her and Tate at UFC 196 was a "more competitive" one compared to the main event bout between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.
