UMI Phablet Iron Pro Launched, Specs Include 3 GB of RAM, Eyeprint ID, & Fingerprint Reader
Chinese smartphone maker UMI has finally unveiled to the public their latest phablet model called the Iron Pro, which is the upgraded variant of the UMI Iron that was launched earlier this year. According to Android Headlines, the device is pretty much like its predecessor but it does have something new to offer to users.
By just looking at it, the mid-ranger phablet Iron Pro appears similar to the Iron on the outside. GSM Arena detailed that it still comes with a metal frame but it also has some security features. It has a 360-degree fingerprint reader located at the rear and an Eyeprint ID which is a sensor that utilizes the unique veins in the eyes of the user for authentication.
As said in Find Biometrics, the developer of the device claims that the system is at least as reliable as Apple's Touch ID. Aside from that, voice recognition is also featured.
Its other specs include a 5.5-inch FHD with 1080p resolution and a pixel density of 403 PPI. Under its hood, one will be able to find a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core chipset that is clocked at 1.3 GHz, with the Mali-T720 GPU. It also has a 3 GB of RAM and internal storage of 16 GB which is expandable via microSD card. A Type-C USB port can also be found.
Technology Personalized reported that the phablet carries at the rear a 13-megapixel Sony IMX 214 Sensor with dual-LED flash and f/2.0 lens. On the front is an 8-Megapixel secondary camera which also comes with a flash and f/2.2 aperture. It will run on Android Lollipop 5.1 out of the box but it's expected that it will also get the Marshmallow update soon.
The phablet, which comes in either silver or black, also supports dual SIM with 150Mbps LTE connectivity. Giving it power and life is a 3,100 mAh battery. The UMI Iron Pro is available with a price tag of $179.99.
