'Uncharted 4' and 'Final Fantasy XV' Lead Video Games Internet Popularity List; 'No Man's Sky' a Runner-up on the Downside

Five game titles including "Uncharted 4" and "No Man's Sky" are creating buzz in the gaming world this August.

These games are listed as the most frequently mentioned in game forums, reviews and metacritic scoring charts. "Uncharted" and company proved the value of pre-release hype and constant game changes in the advent of 4K titles and VR challenges that this gaming year provides. Now without further ado, here is the list of titles that are killing the competition.

5. Overwatch

Blizzard Entertainment can boast drawing in 8 million players during the development stage of Overwatch three months ago. The first-person shooting game is still one of the most recognizable brands this August thanks to heavy media attention. The strategy worked for Blizzard because Overwatch ballooned into 10 million players in just a two-month span. Overwatch is very popular among metacritics, running away with perfect 10 ratings from Destructoid, Game Informer and PlayStation Lifestyle. The title also bagged five-star category from The Escapist and The Guardian.

4. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is surely experiencing the pressure from high expectations days before its release. The title merged three best elements of a successful game namely; role-playing, first-person shooting and stealth. The best and at the same time worst part about Deus Ex is exclusivity in single-player mode. Gamers can ensure that they can carry the game anywhere without worrying against steam play.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is available on August 23 in Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Gamers are given the option to conquer the game the easy way or the hard way via tier-system pre-purchase. Meaning, the more you spend in the pre-purchase will result to a higher level – and of course stronger – Adam Jensen.

3. Final Fantasy XV

It is still far from November release but Final Fantasy XV is already in the frontline this year. The limitation in consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One doesn't neither affect the offshoot of gamers anticipating Noctis Lucis Caelum to wreck their engine in grueling hours of gameplay. Publisher Square Enix is quick to assert that the primary reason for the game's success is the eleven years spent in development stage.

2. No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky is a story of super-hype landing into the gutters. The title enjoyed heavy expectations before its release early this August. Then the reason why the game is second in the list is because of failure to meet these expectations. Game crashing mid-play, bugs and slow updates to fix some graphics problems are the culprits behind for the game to "fall from the sky." No Man's Sky landed in very low 6 ratings in IGN, Polygon, VideoGamer and Metro reviews.

1. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Naughty Dog sustained leadership in the internet buzz since May when they released Uncharted 4. The game is widely popular that it received an eight in just one review outfit (VideoGamer) while grabbing 9 lowest to perfect 10. Uncharted 4 is still enjoying a 93/100 aggregate score in metacritic this August.

Meanwhile, Uncharted 4 will release a five-plot single-player DLC next year. Naughty Dog did not issue a date yet but confirmed that it is going to be at the beginning of 2017.
