'Uncharted' movie adaptation release date, cast news: To star Chris Pratt
Naughty Dog has finally revealed the release date for its film adaptation of "Uncharted."
The popular action-adventure video game will be expecting its movie adaptation in a few years. The project has been in progress with Sony ever since 2008. Directors David O'Russell and Neil Burger have been both committed to the project since it started. However, they left, and were replaced by Seth Gordon, who, unfortunately, also decided to exit the title. Furthermore, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg declined the offer to write the script for the movie. Goldberg stated, "It's just going to be Indiana Jones. If we could figure out a way to make it not Indiana Jones, it'd be awesome."
With all the issues concerning who will direct and write the film, it was announced that the movie adaptation of Uncharted might expect a delay for its release date.
It was rumored that Nathan Drake will be portrayed by "Parks and Recreation" star Chris Pratt. He is speculated to be accompanied by "Ted" and "Transformers: Age of Extinction" actor Mark Wahlberg, as well as Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Amy Adams, and Scarlett Johansson. However, their roles and involvement are still unconfirmed.
Naughty Dog's Uncharted series is based on a modern treasure hunters, namely Nathan Drake, Victor Sullivan, and Elena Fisher. They travel around the world, meet various individuals, and search for historical mysteries. The upcoming installment of the video game titled "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be released as early as 2016. The game is a third-person shooter series that is published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation. Amy Hennig is the creative director of the Uncharted franchise, who has accomplished many feats with the series. Fans hope that she will remain involved in the development of the film.
Uncharted the movie adaptation will be available in theaters on June 30, 2017.
