'Under the Dome' Season 2 Spoilers: Two Characters Killed in Season Premiere (TRAILER VIDEO)

CBS has just released the teaser-trailer for season two of "Under the Dome," the popular series originally written and directed by Stephen King. Season two gets underway on June 30, but The Christian Post has the information you need to know now in preparation. Read on for plenty of spoilers.

"We're really excited because [King] is bringing his usual twists and turns and shocking events," executive producer Neal Baer said during a sneak peek promo. "What's outside comes inside," he teased.

When viewers last saw the trapped citizens of Chester's Mill, Barbie was about to be hanged in the public square. However, Julia decided to take the black egg from inside the mysterious orb she helped protect into the river. All of a sudden, light began to emerge from the water and shoot up towards the top of the dome, where it then removed the darkness that had covered it for so long. For the first time in a long time, residents were able to see light … and Junior had to decide whether to pull the lever that would kill Barbie.

Now, when the show premieres, viewers will see that Barbie's life is still in jeopardy. The residents of Chester's Mill suddenly begin to drop to the ground. And throughout the trailer, citizens are seemingly dragged somewhere against their will.

"I think the Dome is trying to tell us something," an officer says.

For some reason, Big Jim seems unaffected by the Dome's power. He remains bullish in his determination to run the town his own way, regardless of what the Dome wants. Yet even he is brought to his knees at some point.

"Tell me what to do. Tell me!" Big Jim yells out.

"Junior's uncle, who's been hiding out, might cause some problems for Barbie," Baer said. "We have a young school teacher who is quite strong and forceful. She might cause heat for Big Jim."

While these new characters might bring new drama to the Dome, two beloved, lead characters will not survive the first episode. However, thanks to Baer, we now know that Barbie and Big Jim will survive … at least for a few more episodes.
