'Under the Dome' season 3 finale spoilers and episode 12 recap: The dome comes down and a new queen rises
In the series finale of "Under the Dome" titled "The Enemy Within," the synopsis reads, Big Jim and the rest of the resistance make one last attempt to prevent the kinship and the new queen from infecting the people outside the dome.
The trailer for the finale shows an earth-shattering episode that will be filled with drama. The fans of the show should expect the dome to come down in a dramatic way that is similar to how it went up in the first place. The last episode promises to be jaw dropping and mind blowing with epic scenes like Big Jim in a fist fight and Barbie and Julia falling through a crack in the earth.
The series, which was based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, was canceled by CBS due to the lackluster ratings that plagued this season. This current season marked the lowest ratings yet ever for the show as fans lost interest.
In the previous episode, it began with Barbie and Julia as they drove away from the kinship. They were arguing about what to do next. Big Jim and the others retreated to the paper mill that they used as their next hideout. Barbie and Julia reunited with the rest of the gang at the paper mill where the former threw a barb at Hektor. The news of Barbie's baby is received well since the scientists could use the umbilical cord to create a better cure.
Barbie and Julia found the cord but they also found Eva's dead body at the motel. Christine cocooned the baby, which made the dome calcify even faster than before. Christine told Sam and Junior to kill all the elderly people, in order to conserve air, which they did.
Christine transferred her energy and her power into the new queen only to be thwarted by Barbie and Julia. Barbie's child had turned into an adult, while Christine became fully human again. Joe was almost killed by Hektor and he was saved by Norrie and Big Jim. The new queen kills Christine once and for all.
