Upcoming Blackberry Phones 2015: Blackberry Leap Making the Jump in India, Is It Worth $250 Price Tag?

Blackberry has survived 2014 and is now on its way to more markets this year. The manufacturer's latest device, the Blackberry Leap has just made its debut in the Indian subcontinent.

According to a recent report by Phone Arena, the device, which is already available in some online stores in the U.S., will be available in the Asian country by the end of the week.

However, at a price point of about $275 more or less, is the Blackberry Leap worth it?

Based on the report, the BB-OS powered handset packs mostly midrange specs including a 5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. If that internal memory is not enough, the device also has a microSD card slot that can support up to 128GB of memory.

The Blackberry Leap also features an 8MP primary camera, 2MP selfie shooter, 2,800mAh battery that promises over 25 hours of use, and the updated Blackberry 10.3.1 OS.

Unfortunately, the device only has a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus chipset that is clocked at 1.5GHz. For non-Android geeks, the S4 Plus has been present in the market since 2012, which means it may not be able to run smoothly most of the demanding apps and games of today.

Of course, those are still assumptions, and we may still think that the Blackberry Leap has a good chance of making it big in India, where the company commands about 40 percent of the enterprise market.
