Upcoming Lenovo Phones 2015: Chinese Phone Maker Unleashes New Handset in India

In another attempt to break through the Indian market, Lenovo has unveiled another smartphone in the Asian subcontinent.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android-powered handset is a midranger that will cost only INR 12,999 or about $204 on major Indian retailers and websites.

Dubbed as the Lenovo S60, the smartphone will come with pretty decent specs such as a 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, and 8GB of built-in memory.

Other specs include a microSD card slot that can hold up to 32GB of memory, a 2,150mAh battery, and Android 4.4 Kit Kat, which is probably lined up for a Lollipop update in the coming weeks or months.

The camera department is composed of 13MP primary camera with LED flash, and a 5MP front shooter.

Rounding up the specs are 4G LTE Cat4 connectivity and dual-SIM capabilities.

In the report, the device was silently launched in Russia earlier this year, retailing at a more expensive price of $290.

In India, the Lenovo S60 will reportedly be available in Graphite Grey on Flipkart, Amazon India, and Theodostore.

Now that China already has a solid smartphone fanbase and several companies dominating, most phone makers are now looking into India, which is considered the second biggest smartphone market in the world.
