USA vs. Venezuela International Friendly Basketball 2016 - The Date, Time, TV Broadcast and Live Streaming Info; The Strategy Venezuela May Implement
After a success duo during the first two outings in the pre-Olympic tune-up matches against Argentina and China, Team USA will play the South American champion Venezuela at United Center in Chicago on Friday, July 29. The earlier matches in the series resulted to an average of 43 points scoring difference against opposing teams.
Team Venezuela is believed to provide another credible contest against the Americans, looking at their impressive performance in the 2015 FIBA Americas, where the Venezuelans brought home the gold medal.
At any rate, Team USA needs to be at tiptop shape against the Venezuelan squad who made their image as a raging bull who always charge ahead- a tactic patented by the squad's never-say-die coach Nestor Garcia. Under Garcia, Team Venezuela bloomed into a formidable force to reign the FIBA play last year ultimately resulting to its first title in history and a guaranteed spot in Rio.
It is expected that Venezuela will employ a hit-and-run tactic by utilizing the marksmen Heissler Guillent and NBA veteran Greivis Vazquez. The duo was effective in the South American tournament and bombarded oppositions with their accurate perimeter shooting. Vazquez is unsure to be available in time for the game due to unmentioned personal concerns.
For the Team USA, coach Mike Krzyzewski's squad will rely on the consistent performance of Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson who showed effectiveness of inside-outside gameplay. While focusing on rotation of players who are DeMar DeRozan, DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus Cousins and Kyrie Irving.
"We should have won, but the way we won was excellent. We're really growing together as a group. The huge thing for us during these five exhibition games is to try to be in a game shape by the time we get to Rio," Krzyzewski said of his team's 49 points edge over China in an earlier game at Staples Center.
Team USA vs. Venezuela will be televised by NBA TV and will be available to watch via live streaming at USA Basketball Facebook page. Several delayed feeds will also be available in youtube for the fans to catch up.
Meanwhile, tickets still sell online at StubHub for $45 upper level view and $346 for the courtside.
Last in the series of exhibition games will be a matchup against Nigeria at Toyota Center on Monday, August 1, just five days before the formal opening ceremony of the Rio Olympics.
