Utah High School Lockdown After Chemical Bomb
A high school in Utah was placed on lock-down Wednesday after an explosion inside the school created panic and hysteria within the school walls.
Bountiful High School, which is north of Salt Lake City, was placed on lock-down after an alleged chemical explosion from a homemade bomb exploded in the school.
The incident was reported at around 8:20 a.m., when police said that a water bottle which was filled with household chemicals exploded in the foyer area near the stairwell on the south side of the school, according to Bountiful Police Sgt. Gary Koehn.

There have not been any injuries reported as of yet, but a very loud boom was heard my several people in and around the proximity of the school.
The explosion in the school was the second similar explosion of the morning. Police also explained that another explosion was reported at a church that was close to the high school only a few moments before the bomb detonated in the school.
Koehn told reporters that the school was placed on lock-down and the bomb squad was called in for support as police officials canvassed the inside as well as the outside of the high school to make sure that there were no more explosive devices.
Officials from the police department explained that a chemical bomb is similar to a dry ice bomb, where gas and pressure build up in a container until the pressure builds enough to breach the containment apparatus.
Koehn said that the chemical believed to be used was hydrochloric acid which can cause severe injury to anyone who comes in contact with the chemical.
The explosions in the school were described as "minor" and there have been no reports of damage. The school lock-down was lifted around 10:30 a.m.
Bountiful police were questioning two students in connection with the incidents, but there have been no arrests.
