On the other hand, the Jazz are still a good team but need a few more pieces to be able to get to the playoffs and battle with teams better on paper.
This is their second meeting this season and they are not scheduled to battle again, so a win for the Pistons will see them sweep the season series, while the Jazz are hoping that they can get a win over their East counterparts.
When the two teams met earlier this season, it was at The Palace of Auburn Hills and it was a relatively tight affair.
It was a low scoring first quarter that saw the Pistons lead by one before the Jazz got the lead by outscoring Detroit by four points in the second quarter to take a three-point lead.
However, the momentum swung back to the Pistons' favour as they opened the third with a 28-point performance to lead by five.
In the final frame, the teams traded baskets until the final buzzer rang. Detroit won 92-87.
For Utah, they got a big performance from Derrick Favors who had 26 points and six rebounds, while the Pistons also got decent production from their big man as Andre Drummond had 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help Detroit get the win.
