'Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets' Director Luc Besson Teases New Trailer
A lot of science fiction movies are coming to the big screen this year, and yet despite the tight competition, Luc Besson's "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" still manages to make waves. And it looks like the film is getting ready to release yet another spectacle to keep fans wanting more.
On Besson's birthday last March 18, instead of him receiving gifts, he decided to turn it around by giving a present to the public through a teaser of what to expect before the month ends. He says it's his way of sharing the cake, and it was definitely a wonderful treat.
In the said tweet, he shared a short clip in which Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) were welcomed to what they call "Alpha," a proper name to what is considered to be the city of a thousand planets. This is where most of the action occurs, and it is going to be filled with mouth-watering visuals.
At the end of the short teaser, it further tells everyone that a new trailer is going to be arriving on March 29. What it will be presenting is still a mystery, but perhaps a good thing to know is how the conflict started and who was orchestrating it.
It can be recalled that the previous trailer caught the attention of many audiences, indulging everyone in an eerie yet vibrant alien world. From a computer-generated-imagery-filled (CGI-filled) environment to special space guns that create platforms to walk on, it is definitely bringing a wild imagination to life, and so a little detail on the story could keep the fire going.
Luc Besson is well-known for a lot of his work, but most importantly on "The Fifth Element." It will be exciting to see if there are similar elements in his upcoming film.
"Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" ventures into cinemas by July 21, 2017.
