'Van Helsing' Season 2 Spoilers: Vanessa Saves Dylan; Axel Faces New Struggles

Axel (Jonathan Scarfe) will be thrust into new challenges starting on the upcoming episode of "Van Helsing" though he only recently returned.

The Marine made his comeback in the second episode of "Van Helsing" season 2, titled "In Redemption." As revealed in the synopsis of next week's episode, titled "Love Bites," Axel along with an unnamed former ally will have to survive in the wild. Although they are highly-skilled it will not be easy.

As for the show's titular protagonist, Vanessa (Kelly Overton) she will choose to save her daughter, Dylan (Hannah Cheramy). It can be recalled that Dylan was captured by the vampires and forced to turn into their kind.

Elsewhere in the upcoming episode, a clash between some juvenile delinquents and a sadistic vampire is going to happen.

In the preceding episode, Vanessa fought her way out of the citadel to save her daughter. Dmitri (Paul Johansson), the leader of the vampires, along with his sister Antanasia (Gia Crovatin), came up with a plan to stop Vanessa while Mohamad (Trezzo Mahoro) tried to save the mother and daughter duo.

To recap, Antanasia perished in the process, forcing her brother to pull back and regroup, leaving the ferals without a leader.

Vanessa, who has the sole ability to keep the predatory vampires at bay, now faces the challenge of coping with Dylan. Not much is known about the fate of the young vampire, and the fleeting memories of her childhood might continue to confuse her at this point. But eventually she needs to pick a side. Perhaps when she learns that Julius (Aleks Paunovic) has been turned back, it might give her an idea.

"Van Helsing" season 2 episode 3, titled "Love Bites," airs Thursday, Oct. 19 at 9 p.m. ET on SYFY.
