Vancouver Canucks vs Calgary Flames Live Stream: Watch Online NHL Playoffs 2015
The Vancouver Canucks host the Calgary Flames at Rodgers Arena in the first game of their NHL Playoff series. The game will be played on April 15, 2015 and the puck will drop at 10 p.m. ET.
Vancouver secured home advantage by finishing second in the highly competitive Pacific Division in the Western Conference. They finished behind the Anaheim Ducks only by eight points and won three straight to close out the regular season.
Meanwhile, the Flames had to battle the defending champions Los Angeles Kings who were chasing them for the final spot. They managed the pressure well by winning three of their last four matches of the season to end up third and beating the Kings by two points. Now they are set to face the Canucks, who are looking to beat the Flames for the first time in three straight tries.
These two rivals have met four times in the regular season, with Vancouver winning the first two. The first meeting was in Calgary, but the Canucks were the ones who stole the show.
Alexandre Burrows opened the scoring, with Zach Kassian and Radim Vrbata also finding the net for Vancouver to nullify Paul Byron's goal. Henrik Sedin finished things off with a goal late in the third period to complete the victory.
In the next meeting, they needed overtime to win in Vancouver, with Yannick Weber and Vrbata scoring early in the game but only to be leveled by David Jones and Johnny Gaudreau. Chris Tanev gave the Canucks the extra point in just 18 seconds of the overtime period.
Calgary finally notched a win against Vancouver in their third meeting as Mikael Backlund scored the match's only goal early in the first period to give the visitors two points. They would eventually extend that streak over the Canucks to two with a 3-2 victory as Lance Bouma's goal in the third period proved to be the winner in front of their fans at Scotiabank Saddledome.
