'Veronica Mars' Actor Brad Bufanda Dies At 34
Brad Bufanda, best known for his role as Felix Toombs in the first two seasons of "Veronica Mars," has passed away from an apparent suicide. He was only 34.
Authorities say that Bufanda jumped off a building in Los Angeles, California. Ed Winter of the L.A. County Coroner's Department has confirmed that the actor died from doing so.
Bufanda reportedly jumped off a building in the 300 block of Fuller Avenue. The actor was discovered lifeless on the sidewalk at 1 in the morning on Wednesday by a transient. A suicide note was recovered on or near his body, which listed the names of his parents. He also attached a note wherein he thanked certain people in his life.
Bufanda's manager Kirsten Solem has also confirmed the news. She admitted that suicide came as a complete shock to her, as he did not struggle with substance abuse. He also did not show any outward signs of depression or any emotional struggle.
"We are completely devastated for he was an extremely talented young actor and wonderful, caring human being," Solem said in a statement. "He was reviving his career having just completed two movies, and we are shocked and saddened by his passing."
Through social media, Bufanda's "Veronica Mars" co-star Rob Thomas expressed his grief over his passing. And he sent out his condolences to the family he left behind.
Apart from his role on "Veronica Mars," he guest starred in TV shows such as "CSI: Miami" and "Malcolm in the Middle." He also appeared on "Boston Public" and "Days of Our Lives." Films buffs probably know him best for his role in the 2004 romantic comedy, "A Cinderella Story," starring Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray. He played a jock who was one of the latter's friends.
