'Veronica Mars' Miniseries News: Kristen Bell Project Is 'Going to Happen'
Kristen Bell has confirmed that "Veronica Mars" will be back in the form of a miniseries.
The "Frozen" actress talked about the possibility when her co-star Ryan Hansen called her during a Facebook Live for Indiewire.
We are willing to put the effort in — I mean, if I have to do it as "Murder She Wrote" at 80, we're going to do it. It's going to happen.
She reveals that she and show creator Rob Thomas "email about it every couple of months or so" and that they agree that "Veronica Mars" actually "works better as an episodic" series as opposed to a movie, which is the way the franchise was first revived.
Bell's words suggest that she is very keen on bringing "Veronica Mars" back whatever it takes and whether it will be soon or later. The star even revealed in a recent Reddit AMA session that they are indeed "trying" to make it happen.
Talks about a "Veronica Mars" miniseries started last year. Bell and show creator Rob Thomas revealed the plan, saying that they are not looking to have fans shell out anything unlike their first time to revive the franchise. Thomas told TVLine:
Kristen and I both want to figure out some way we could do a six-episode "Veronica Mars" mystery. If I were a betting man, I bet that it will happen. I just don't know when it will be.m
There is no word yet when the miniseries will hit the small screen and what it will be all about. However, it is looking more and more like fans can count on the project happening.
"Veronica Mars" is a teen noir mystery drama that aired in 2004. It followed Bell the adventures of the titular high school junior and skilled private detective and ran for three seasons.
