VH1 Rock Docs to Show Dave Grohl's 'Sound City' & 'Pearl Jam 20'

VH1 will be airing documentaries about some of the most famous musicians from Seattle, Dave Grohl and Pearl Jam.

In the channel's series, "Rock Docs," they will be showing "Sound City" by Grohl, and "Pearl Jam 20," by Cameron Crowe.

Grohl, lead singer of the Foo Fighters, and drummer of former band, Nirvana, makes his directorial debut in "Sound City," which documents the studio of the same name where classic albums by Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, Neil Young and Trent Reznor were made according to Upi.com.

Grohl himself recorded in the studio in 1991 with Nirvana when they recorded their groundbreaking Nevermind album.

"Sound City" will air on both VH1 and VH1 Classic on August 17.

"Pear Jam 20" will cover over 1,200 hours of rarely seen footage from the band as the documentary will cover their rise to fame in their early years.

Crowe is best known for his films "Almost Famous" and "Jerry McGuire."

The documentary will air on VH1 on October 12.

In other news for Grohl, he was revealed to be a masked musician in a band called Ghost's Nameless Ghouls.

The Swedish band tours around and selects a number of famous musicians to play with while in a disguise so no one knows who they play with.

The "unmasking" came on Jack Osbourne's interview show on Fuse.

"As a matter of fact he has. I can't really… but underneath that cloak it was Dave Grohl," one of the band members said on the show according to KPopStarz.
