'Vice Principals' Season 2 Spoilers: Gamby and Russell's Feud Intensifies as Prom Night Approaches
Fans will find "Vice Principals'" main characters Neal Gamby (Danny McBride) and Lee Russell (Walton Goggins) in an intensifying conflict in the show's upcoming episode.
Gamby and Russell were rivals who became best buddies with the goal that one of them must become principal of North Jackson High School.
Spoilers for the eighth and penultimate episode of "Vice Principals" season 2, titled "Venetian Nights," are still scarce. However, the official synopsis for the upcoming portion hinted of an incoming feud between Gamby and Russell.
The one-sentence synopsis said tension between Gamby and Russell will intensify as prom night approaches.
Viewers who watched the previous episode will likely have a hunch on what will cause the feud between Gamby and Russell. For the most part of season 2, the former had been searching for every clue that could lead him to his shooter.
In the Spring Break-themed episode last Sunday, Gamby appeared to be in shock as he discovered the exact set of clothing that the gunman wore at the time when he was shot inside Russell's truck.
As the show progressed since its first season, fans have seen Gamby and Russell becoming best buddies one day and arch-rivals the next. However, the show's narrative still established who was the good guy and who had the potential to be a villain between the two.
Despite their friendship on the surface, fans will agree that Russell always finds a way -- whether deliberate or not -- to put Gamby in an incriminating situation.
It had also been established that Russell's character could be willing to go to great lengths just to get or achieve something, no matter what it will cost.
Meanwhile, despite Gamby's tough personality that caused him to be disliked by many students and co-faculty, he had always been the one between the duo who showed some compassion from time to time.
The show's penultimate episode "Venetian Nights" airs on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 10:40 p.m. EST on HBO.
