'Vikings' Season 3 Premiere Date Set for 2015, Ragnar Invades Paris
"Vikings" is a Canadian-Irish historical drama series, which airs on The History Channel and was written by Michael Hirst. Earlier this year, The network renewed the series for a third season, which will premiere for on 2015.
The series was inspired by the sagas of Viking Ragnar Lothbrok, one of the best-known mythological Norse hero as well as notorious for the scourge of England and France. As such, the series revolves around Ragnar and his raids in England along with his family.
While the third season is still a long way away, plot details are already floating around the Internet, especially the hint at a fan-favorite character's death. The invasion of Paris will also be taking place during the third season.
The third season is also where Ragnar will be given the title and power of a king, despite not wanting the aforementioned power. His new title however, is going to give him some problems later on. Some plot details regarding Ragnar's newfound power and title were unveiled during the San Diego Comic Con weeks ago.
"The first scene starts out off with all the trouble that power causes. I think throughout this year it really becomes alive, how hard it is to be a leader and all the sacrifices you have to make and all that sort of stuff," Travis Fimmel had said during an interview.
Even with the troubles facing him, the bright side to his title will allow Ragnar to finally go to places that he could not access before, like Paris.
"We go to Paris! Last year got caught up with so much family drama in Kattegat. So much drama that Ragnar and the boys, we didn't get to explore like we wanted to," Fimmel added.
