'Vikings' Season 4 News: What Is the Future of the Vikings?

The upcoming episodes of "Vikings" Season 4 will show a time jump to show how Kattegat has prospered.

The mid season finale of "Vikings" Season 4 showed the unsuccessful attempt of Ragnar to take on France. Despite this, it was hinted that Ragnar will continue asserting his power despite the challenges he is expected to face in the future.

However, there are speculations that the season will soon show Ragnar's departure. The creator of the series Michael Hirst spoke to Variety about how the most recent episode sealed the fate of Ragnar. He revealed that Ragnar's brother Rollo will be determined to bring an end to Ragnar.

He said, "Rollo had rebelled before, when he tried to creep out from under Ragnar's shadow - the Viking idea is that fame is everything, to be remembered for things, and he just felt that he was never going to be remembered. And then the Seer had told him that if he went to Paris that something extraordinary would happen."

With Ragnar's inevitable end, it was explained that one of his sons Bjorn will soon be taking focus in the upcoming episodes. He is expected to take on the Mediterranean seas, which will open up more opportunities for his character to develop.

Hirst was able to share some interesting details about the real history of Bjorn. He said, "He really has that [more], I think, than Ragnar. I was writing about him today. He was in Sicily today and next week he's going to be in Africa. He's going to be in the Sahara Desert. So this guy just does amazing things and he's a Viking from Scandinavia, for goodness' sake."

With that, fans can expect Bjorn to take on more lands in the upcoming episodes of "Vikings" Season 4.
