'Vikings' Seasons 5 Spoilers: Floki Sets Foot In Strange New Land Next Season

Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) will venture into a new territory when "Vikings" returns for season 5.

In the sneak peek that was posted by Entertainment Weekly, the peculiar shipbuilder will find himself wandering in a strange new land as he walks towards a large waterfall. According to the report, Floki will arrive in a new place that will be known as Iceland in the present day.

Based on the sneak peek, Floki will be heading to a gigantic waterfall that looks like the gate of Valhalla that was previously seen by his deceased friend Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel). Just like his late friend, the boat maker will realize that the flow of the water in the falls was set in reverse. This will make his drop down to his knees to anticipate who will come out to meet him, then a figure of what seemed to be a man will suddenly appear through the mist.

While the trailer did not reveal the identity of the man, a report claimed that mysterious image belongs to the god named Loki. This could mean that Floki could possibly meet his demise sometime in season 5.

Floki will not be the only character who will set foot in a strange new land when the series returns next season.

In an interview with the same publication back in July, series creator Michael Hirst revealed that Ragnar's oldest son Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) will set foot in the Mediterranean.

"I always knew the real Bjorn Ironside went into the Mediterranean and found himself in what is now Tunisia, on the edge of the Sahara," Hirst stated. "One of the things that was constraining us was that we couldn't reproduce the Sahara desert in the west of Ireland."

A photo of Bjorn riding a camel was also released to tease the character's journey in the upcoming season.

The History Channel will air the season 5 premiere of "Vikings" on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 9 p.m. EDT.
