Vince Staples Clarifies Remarks After Calling Eminem's Anti-Trump Freestyle 'Trash'
Eminem recently surprised fans with a freestyle rap slamming President Donald Trump during the BET Hip-Hop Awards.
While it quickly became viral with many praising the artist as he proved why he is the true rap god, "Summertime 06" rapper Vince Staples begs to differ.
At the In Sight Out series held at the Museum of Contemporary Art for Pitchfork, Staples called Eminem's freestyle rap "trash," believing that "he can do better."
He went on to say that some of the "Stan" rapper's lines would get him kicked out or booed.
If I said, "This is for Colin/Ball up a fist/And keep it balled up/Like Donald the b—h,' they would be like, "Get this n—a out of here."
He said that while he was not a huge fan of Eminem's overall performance, he suggested that he still shares the rapper's thoughts when it comes to the subject matter.

Staples, however, noted that he liked something about the freestyle rap, describing the remake about the "wall of dark-skinned black people behind him" as his "favorite" part, calling it "great."
It seems that not many fans were happy about his comments with the "Lift Me Up" rapper taking to Twitter to clarify that he made the remarks in "good fun," and that his words were taken out of context.
Although he did stood by it, saying: "And y'all not about to sit here and try to convince me the Donald the b—h line had y'all out y'all seat shut up."
Staples went on to say that he feels like he is being treated unfairly in the situation:
How we gonna clown Xtentacion for rapping like a sorcerer on XXL but let M go full ["Assassins' Creed] and then deny me the right to my jokes. Me not being able to make jokes about [Eminem is white supremacy. Pitchfork don't make me call Cornell West.
