Virtual Reality Games Extravaganza 2016: 'Minecraft,' 'Lucky's Tale' and Other VR Games Playable Soon in Oculus Rift
Oculus Rift announced its major achievement today as "Minecraft" is finally included in the growing list of game titles to jump into the VR technology. Players using the brick style world of "Minecraft" in Microsoft's Windows 10 will specifically enjoy roaming around the virtual reality world as this develops.
'Minecraft' VR
In the meantime, players who developed their "Minecraft" creations have to plug their Oculus Rift in Xbox One consoles (remember that it is Windows 10 specific) to tread the VR version. This can be made possible after an update that is confirmed due this week.
Oculus Rift assures that they are developing their own version of controllers and the potential release is later this year. Meaning, players currently using Xbox One controllers can utilize the full potential of the standalone VR console.
Meanwhile, other VR engines like Samsung VR Gear, HTC Vive and Google Cardboard are also jumping into the virtual reality war this year with a respective roster of known game titles to choose from. By October this year, the competition is projected to grow bigger. Even a new version canonically dubbed as PlayStation VR is anticipated to join the list.
Oculus Rift Roster
At any rate, here is the list of popular games currently available in Oculus Rift:
"The Gallery: Call of Starseed" is a dark fantasy game that is a hybrid between the old RPG-style games and search and connect game system. The Gallery offers episodes where a player can explore and search for clues to resolve the game levels and quests.
"Chronos" is also an RPG game where the protagonist has to explore labyrinths, dungeons and everything the VR world can offer. The classic theme of "save the whole world while vanquishing dark forces" is a driving force for the player to enter the beautiful Chronos dimension.
"Lucky's Tale" is a sure hit among children because of its lighter theme and colorful scheme. The player will transform into a squirrel. The gameplay includes climbing trees, earning bonuses and conquering other obstacles.
"Surgeon Simulator" is a bit morbid for same players but the appeal of conducting a surgery is the primary reason why this game is a major hit. The quest of the game is already well given in the game title itself. Players conduct several surgical operations to treat the patient's health condition (good to test a VR dummy instead of a real person) and conquer the game by keeping the patient alive.
