'Voodoo Vince: Remastered' To Be Available for Xbox One and PC on April 18

The HD remake of platforming video game "Voodoo Vince" is going to be released soon, according to its developer.

PC Gamer reports that Beep Industries has just announced its game "Voodoo Vince: Remastered" will be available for both Xbox One and PC on April 18. A new trailer for the title was also released.

According to a report from Game Spot, players can download this via the Windows Store and Steam for $15. The game, a remake of the 2003 original, will still follow the adventures of Vince, a voodoo doll searching for his owner, Madam Charmaine. Vince will travel across New Orleans, combing through swamps and graveyards just to reunite with her.

The remastered version is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, which means that once bought, players can gain access to it in both Xbox One and Windows 10 without shelling out more money. Achievements are also shared between the platforms. This is not the same for the Steam version, though.

The wacky puzzle-platformer is said to feature updated rendering and visual effects, but the gameplay is mostly untouched. Series creator Clayton Kauzlaric said in a previous post (via Xbox News) they tried to not veer away too much from the original.

According to Kauzlaric, he started planning the re-launching of "Voodoo Vince" when he became a creative director for Microsoft Studios. He worked with a small team. It took several attempts to get Microsoft to agree to publish the game. The first two pitches, he said, got rejected. He also talked about what the gamers can expect in the remastered version.

"It's wide screen now, of course, in glorious 1080p and running at 60fps. The rendering engine is being rewritten from the ground up with lots of crisp new textures and rendering effects. Xbox Live was still a twinkle in Microsoft's eye when VV launched, so we've got profiles and achievements. We never finished hooking up rumble in the original game, so yay: We have vibrate-y goodness," Kauzlaric teased, according to Xbox News.

"Voodoo Vince: Remastered" will be released on April 18 for both Xbox One and PC.
