Walking Dead Finale Season 3 Spoilers, Recap, Review: Climax With Dramatic Death of Andrea (VIDEO)

The Walking Dead finale episode aired on Sunday and did not disappoint fans of the show.

The Season 3 finale was dramatic and fulfilled rumors that had touted there would be some major characters killed off on the show. Although many of the 27 casualties in the finale episode were minor characters and zombies, two notable characters who were killed off to the disappointment of fans were Milton (Dallas Roberts) and Andrea (Laurie Holden).

The Welcome to the Tombs episode kicked off with the Governor (David Morrissey) torturing Milton and telling him that he's not exiting the torture chamber without taking out Andrea, either as a living human being or a so-called "dead walker."

Meanwhile, the rest of the group and Rick were seen making plans to leave the prison in light of an anticipated attack by Woodbury.

While all that is going on Carol (Melissa McBride) tries to cheer up Daryl (Norman Reedus) by saying that his late brother Merle (Michael Rooker) "gave us a chance."

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) also showed some remorse over his initial decision to sacrifice Michonne (Danai Gurira) to the governor for the group's well being.

However, she claimed that she understood his motivations for saving the group, and thanked Rick for taking her in the prison. Rick said that if it weren't for Carl (Chandler Riggs), that they wouldn't have.

Led by the governor, the Woodbury group launched an attack on the prison while the group sat back witnessing it.

They soon moved in and the Governor's people retreated. Upon reaching Woodbury and meeting up with Tyrese (Chad L. Coleman), Rick, Daryl and Michonne find a dead Milton, but also find a bitten Andrea.

Due to her inevitable fate, Andrea urges the group to let her sacrifice and kill herself rather than turn into a walker. Ultimately Rick gives her the gun and the drama of the finale episode reaches a climax as a gunshot is heard.

The Walking Dead season four is set to begin in October.
