Walmart And LG Partner On $10 Lucky LG16 Smartphone
The available smartphones nowadays come with price tags that ranges between $100 to as high as $800. But Walmart is breaking the record by collaborating with LG to create the most affordable smartphone around. According to News 4C, the American multinational retail corporation has listed an extraordinarily cheap smartphone called the TracFone LG Prepaid Lucky LG16 and it is being sold for $10 only.
It may sound too good to be true but the cheap mobile phone exists for the purpose of giving people a very affordable means of communication. According to Softpedia, the Lucky LG16 is listed at Walmart for a price of $9.82. But it's currently out of stock due to the high demand.
Considering the price, there isn't a lot to expect from the LG device. Mashable reported that the phone sports a 3.8-inch touchscreen display with unspecified resolution and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Its operating system is an Android 4.4 KitKat which is actually stable enough for the device.
It is equipped with a 4 GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to 32 GB via the microSD card. It also carries a 3-megapixel rear camera for those photo and video taking emergencies. It has no 4G LTE but it has a 3G capability.
Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. It is also installed with a built-in mp3 player. Walmart claimed that the Lucky LG16 can offer seven hours of talk time and can last up to 10 days when on standby. That is why one of its benefits include being a spare mobile phone, a liberator in times of battery crisis or when a person's main smartphone is lost.
Another great thing about the entry-level device is that it can be bought directly from the store since it is contract-free and sells as prepaid. Those who have been waiting for the restock of the device, there's no specific date yet. There are no details as well on whether the TracFone LG Prepaid Lucky LG16 will be launched outside the borders of United States.
