'Warcraft' Character Posters Released

Excitement for the upcoming feature film adaptation of the video game "Warcraft" has just kicked up another notch, when new movie character posters were shared to the public a few days ago. According to a report in SlashFilm, fans of the game were not so satisfied with the film's first trailer that came out last year. The posters however give fans a closer look at the main characters of the film in their entire splendor.

The eight posters featured the film's main characters – three humans and five orcs. The humans were the warriors, King Llane (played by Dominic Cooper) and Anduin Lothar (played by Travis Fimmel) and the Queen, Lady Taria (played by Ruth Negga). The orcs on the other hand included Blackhand the Destroyer (Clancy Brown), Orgrim the Defiant (Rob Kazinsky), Gul'Dan the Invader (Daniel Wu), Durotan the Rebel (Toby Kebbell) and Garona the Survivor (Paula Patton).

According to a report in Collider, the posters have gotten a positive response from both the gaming community and those who are not so familiar with the game. The film's director, Duncan Jones, according to the report, has been very vocal about his "passion for the game" and this coupled with his skills as a filmmaker somehow gives hope to the gaming community that this will not go the way of other video game adaptations.

Polygon also cited that the orc posters were computer-generated images of the orcs as they would appear in the movie. In the movie, the orcs came to life via motion-capture thus the actors playing them seem unrecognizable, except for Paula Patton's Garona.

The film bows in theaters on June 10. Its official synopsis has been released as well, describing the film as a battle between the humans and the orcs, with the humans protecting their world Azeroth and the orcs trying to conquer it because the fate of their race depended on looking for another world to live in.
