'Warcraft' Spoilers: 'Vikings' Star Travis Fimmel Shares Teasers
Star of the upcoming "Warcraft" movie was able to share some details about his upcoming role.
It was previously revealed that Travis Fimmel, from the series "Vikings," will be taking on the iconic role of Sir Anduin Lothar. According to IGN, the actor spilled some details about what it was like to take on the character.
The actor explained that working on "Vikings" and "Warcraft" are two different experiences. It was said that instead of the brutal nature of "Vikings," the process of "Warcraft" was a more stylized approach. He said, "The fighting style is very different. There's all of those special effects [in Warcraft]."
With that, it can be expect that the film will feature many visual effects that will surely amaze the audiences. Fimmel added, "Warcraft is very motion capture-oriented and special effects-orientated and we wear costumes that I couldn't get through a door with all the armor. You can't lift your arms above your head with that on, but Vikings is a bit more natural with the fighting."
The visual effects of the upcoming movie were reportedly executed by ILM, who has worked on big projects such as the "Star Wars" saga. The team will be headed by the visual effects supervisor Bill Westenhoffer. He is best known for his work on "Life of Pi." He will be joined by Jeff White, who has worked on big film such as "Hulk."
The film will be directed by Duncan Jones, who explained that he found himself lucky to have the opportunity to work on the "Warcraft" film. He said that upon speaking with the Blizzard team, he realized that they were both able to envision the project in the same way. With that, they decided to develop a story about humans battling the race of orcs. This will then develop a story that will produce a hero for the different races.
"Warcraft" is expected to hit theaters on June 10, 2016.
