Washington Capitals vs Philadelphia Flyers Live Stream, Start Time: Watch NHL Playoffs Online
Two teams begin their post season runs.
In the second day of the National Hockey League playoffs, the Washington Capitals begin their post season campaign by hosting the Philadelphia Flyers in the first round.
The matchup is on April 14, 2016 at 7:00 PM ET.
To be played at the Verizon Center, the Capitals are heading into the series with an advantage as they are the top seeded team after topping the Metropolitan Division.
They are also the team with the most points in the league at the end of the regular season with 120 points, winning 56 of 82 games while only losing a total of 18 times.
Washington have been impressive when playing at home, winning 29 games during the regular season and only dropping points eight times – the only team this season with less than 10 losses at home in the campaign.
They are facing off against a familiar opponent in the Philadelphia Flyers who finished fifth in the Metropolitan Division with a 41-27-14 record and are heading into the post season with back-to-back wins.
Easily, the best player of the Capitals is Alex Ovechkin. He has had an amazing run this season as he has scored 50 goals to lead the team and assisted 21 times.
Furthermore, TJ Oshie has proven to be the perfect partner for Ovechkin with 51 points after 26 goals and 21 assists to help the team.
On the other hand, Wayne Simmonds leads the Flyers in goals with 32 nets so far and 28 assists.
If the Flyers want a chance to upset the top seed, then Simmonds must be active throughout the series and find gaps in the defence of Washington to score goals.
This is shaping out to be a long and intense series and both teams are looking to get the win in the first game to be able to get the advantage.
