Washington Capitals vs Pittsburgh Penguins live stream, start time: Watch NHL Playoffs Online
It's the next round of the playoffs.
It's Game 1 of the semifinal matchup of the Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League.
The matchup is on April 28, 2016 at 8:00 PM ET.
This is a highly anticipated matchup as the Capitals were the first seed and are expected to make it deep in the post season, while the Penguins are second and should give their rivals a tough series.
Washington opened their playoff campaign against the Philadelphia Flyers and only needed six games to take out their rivals.
Washington started the series with a 2-0 win at home before dominating the second game 4-1 to take a commanding series lead.
When the scene shifted to Philadelphia, the Capitals kept their composure and thrashed the Flyers 6-1 to take a big 3-0 lead in the series.
Looking to complete the sweep, the Capitals dropped Game 4 before losing the fifth game as Philadelphia looked to stay alive in their campaign.
However, it was a big mountain to climb even when playing at home as Philadelphia could not beat Washington's defence in the sixth game.
On the other hand, the Capitals got the goal they needed with a slap shot from Nicklas Backstrom in the second period to give them the lead – the goal that would ultimately book their place in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, the Flyers faced off against the New York Rangers in a tense affair, but Pittsburgh showed their dominance in the series that only lasted five games.
After winning the first game, New York bounced back in Game 2 to tie the series.
With the momentum against them, the Penguins regrouped and took the next two games in New York, including a dominating 5-0 win to take a 3-1 series lead.
Back home, the Penguins finished things off with a 6-3 win to eliminate the Rangers and are now facing the Capitals.
