Washington Redskins NFL Trade Rumors: Zach Brown Joins
Second-team All-Pro linebacker Zach Brown is finally off the open market. Brown was reportedly going to choose between the Miami Dolphins or the Oakland Raiders, but the Redskins' offer must have been so good that he has decided to join them after visiting Washington on Monday.
The Redskins did not disclose the terms of the deal, but NFL.com's Ian Rapoport has reported that Brown signed a one-year, $4.65 million contract.
The former Buffalo Bills linebacker will bolster the team's defense and he should push either Will Compton or Mason Foster to the bench.

"They could use him on the outside in certain packages, trying to get more speed and pass-rushers on the field. That's a definite possibility. His speed should help against any offense that likes to spread teams out (which is most of them), especially when the Redskins are in their nickel packages," ESPN's John Keim said in his report.
"Brown hasn't been a signal-caller in his career, so it wouldn't make sense to have him do that in his first season here — if at all. Nothing wrong with that," he continued.
This is a great signing for the Redskins. Brown is in his prime and he has already shown that he can play with the best. Furthermore, they don't have to worry if he doesn't pan out because he only signed a one-year deal.
The Bills were horrible last season, but Brown impressed a lot of people with his play. He had the second most tackles (149) in the league last season and he also collected four sacks, four passes defensed, an interception and two forced fumbles. He was also named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.
The Redskins' defense was quite bad last season. But with Brown and fellow newcomers D.J. Swearinger, Terrell McClain and Stacy McGee, the team should perform much better next season.
