Wayward Sisters News: First Look for Backpilot Episode Released
The CW officially released the first photos taken from the upcoming "Supernatural" spin-off series called "Wayward Sisters."
Several images had been posted by Comic Book to showcase the upcoming backdoor pilot for the upcoming spin-off, which also serves as the 10th episode of the long-running mystery police procedural drama.
One of the photos showed Alex Jones (Katherine Ramdeen), Sheriff Donna Hanscum (Briana Buckmaster), and Claire Novak (Kathryn Love Newton) having a chat with each other at the back of a vehicle.
TVLine reported that the backdoor pilot will center on the story of Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) and several young women who all lost their parents through a supernatural tragedy. The ladies will work with each other to fight mystic beings who are out to cause trouble. But unlike the parent series where the two main characters are brothers, the young women who will form the group are not related to each other.
The story begins after Claire, the daughter of a regular "Supernatural" character Jimmy Novak, returns to Sioux Falls in South Dakota where she met up with the members of the group. They aim to eliminate all the monsters who are planning to attack humans.
Other stars include Clark Backo as Patience Turner as well as Yadira Guevara-Prip as Kaia Nieves.
Jensen Ackles, one of the lead stars of "Supernatural," expressed his support for the show when asked by the publication. "There's a reason that this [spinoff] is hinging around them: because they were [fan] favorite characters on the show," Ackles stated when the publication visited the set of the long-running TV series in November. "I know they're favorite guests of [ours], and when they get to come on the show, it's really fun for us."
The CW has yet to announce the official release date of "Wayward Sisters," but the show is expected to go on air sometime in 2018.
