Wentworth Miller Latest News: Actor Leaving The CW's Arrowverse Soon?

Wentworth Miller, who plays Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold, in The CW's Arrowverse, particularly in "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow," is about to say goodbye to the viewers of these shows.

The actor recently announced on Instagram that he will be leaving the Arrowverse after he wraps up filming his last episodes.

"Currently shooting some of my final episodes as Captain Cold/Leonard Snart," he wrote. "Grateful — now and in advance — to a pair of talented casts and hardworking crews. Thank you. I've had a tremendous time playing this character," the actor went on to say.

The reason behind his departure is still unknown.

Miller debuted as Snart in "The Flash" season 1 back in 2014. His character was teamed up with Mick Rory, a.k.a. Heat Wave, played by his "Prison Break" co-star Dominic Purcell, which also led to the revival of the drama series on Fox, according to Deadline.

The two then were cast in the time travel spinoff series "Legends of Tomorrow," where they were recruited to be part of the Legends, a group of misfits chosen by Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), to go after someone who was trying to change the important events in history.

Snart became a fan favorite on the show, especially when he sacrificed himself to save the lives of his team at the end of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 1.

This major character departure follows that of John Barrowman's exit from the Arrowverse, wherein he played Malcolm Merlyn in "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow," and Laura Benanti unable to reprise her role as Alura Zor-El in "Supergirl."

It has also been confirmed that Martin Stein, a member of the Legends and one-half of Firestorm, will also be leaving the Arrowverse as actor Victor Garber is pursuing a career in Broadway.

For now, fans will have watch out for Miller and Garber's final appearances in "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow," which air Tuesdays on The CW, at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. EST, respectively.
