West Bromwich Albion vs Chelsea Preview: English Premier League Match Up
Both teams have yet to win this season.
Defending Premier League champion Chelsea will try to get its first win of the season as it travels to the Hawthorns to play West Bromwich Albion.
The match is on August 23, 2015 at 8:30 AM ET.
It has not been the start that Jose Mourinho's men wanted. After winning the league last season, many thought that they would start the season well and stroll through their first few challenges.
However, it has been far from a smooth ride for the Blues as they have yet to win a game in the league.
Things certainly looked that way in their first match against Swansea City, but they lost their goal advantage after allowing Swansea to bounce back.
Chelsea showed moments of brilliance in the game but mental lapses such Thibaut Courtois' sending off spelled disaster for the London club.
Swansea capitalised on the error and resulted in a 2-2 draw in the match.
Chelsea expected things to be much harder in the second game as it faced Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
However, the Blues still looked good on paper and getting at least another draw was a good enough result for them considering the opponent that they had.
Unfortunately, they did not come out to play in the game and were thrashed by a determined City side that looked to sweep away their opponents.
The visitors looked like they were lost throughout the game and allowed three goals without answering once in the loss.
Now they will get their chance to notch their first win as they meet West Brom.
However, that will not be an easy task as West Brom won their last meeting with the Blues at the Hawthorns with a 3-0 scoreline.
Despite a difference of talent on paper, West Brom has held its own as it only lost to Chelsea once in their last four meetings – with two of those four ending in draws.
What works for Chelsea now is that West Brom has had a similarly slow start to the season, only securing one point in its first two matches.
